Missoula Trip

After finishing the school year on July 2, I hustled up to Missoula to celebrate the Fourth with friends. We ended up bbqing at CJ and Heather's and watching the fireworks from their driveway. Here's Ava making herself at home in my hosts' laps.

The next day the rain moved in and there were the most beautiful rainbows across town. This one was bigger than the viewfinder on my camera.

Having nothing better to do, Ava and I hiked the M trail in the rain. Here's a view of Missoula from the hill at sunset.

Success! Ava is a stud! She pulled me up the trail and was rather impatient with me stopping at every switchback. She really wanted to get the trailmix someone dropped and didn't want anything to do with this picture.

The next day I visited a friend on campus and took this postcard-perfect shot. Can you see the switchbacks going up to the M? A mile and a half, 620 vertical feet, and 11 switchbacks. Yes, I stopped at each one.
